Christmas Wedding Stanbrook Abbey

Mar 5, 2020 | IN LOVE

As recommended wedding photographers it was a pleasure for us to photograph this Christmas Wedding at Stanbrook Abbey.  We have been photographing weddings there for 8 years and it is always amazing.  It is an incredible building and has beautiful grounds too. A winter wedding can always throw up challenges but having some gorgeous indoor features and using our lighting we are able to get creative and that was exactly what we did for the wedding of Helen and James. It was the perfect Christmas Wedding.

Perfect Christmas Wedding at Stanbrook Abbey

When we arrived the rain had already set in for the day but nothing was dampening spirits. Helen was in Bride’s Manor with her bridesmaids and Mum. Mia Winterburn did the make up for everyone. Laurence Taylor was busy with the hair styling and he also helped Helen into her gorgeous dress from Bea’s Bridal (alterations by Stacey Louise Dressmaker).

Kev caught up with James in his room where he was getting ready before meeting with his groomsmen in the Groom’s Room. I loved the shots Kev captured of James getting into his suit.

We were joined on the day by Zade Film Company who was filming the day.

Callow Hall Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was held in the Callow Hall. The flowers looked stunning and very festive. These were by Rebecca Kate Flowers. Rings from White River Diamond were exchanged. One of Helen’s bridesmaids sang during the signing of the register which was a lovely moment.

As it was still raining we stayed in the Callow Hall once the ceremony was over and captured a great group shot of everyone from the balcony and there was a confetti tunnel too. We were also able to do family photos and a few couple portraits there before we went across to St Annes for the drinks reception.

The wedding breakfast was in the Pavilion. It had been decorated beautifully by The Secret Garden. There were crackers on each place setting from House of Crackers too.

We were able to finally get a couple of photos outside after the meal. By this time it was dark so we got out our lighting again.

It was soon time for the evening to get underway. Cutting of the stunning cake by Nuthouse Bakery was followed by the first dance with music from our friends at Wedding and Party DJs. And for those that fancied a little flutter there were a couple of tables from GB Casinos.

As a result of all of this we had a great day with a fab couple. Thanks to Liza and Clyde who helped Helen and James in the run up to the day and on the day itself.
